I found a 5th reason why your formulas are not calculating. If the formulas do not match they will give a return of zero. I had =8.34*11 in cell i3 and =[@[July Due]]+17 in i3. I changed cell i3 to =17*2 and it gave the correct sum of 914.08

The fix for manual row height setting (problem #2) should not be to manually set it again. You should go to Table Properties > Row Tab > Next Row (until you get to the messed up one) and clear the specified height from that specific row. That way you're not perpetuating the problem by manually setting it again. The rest of these are very helpful.
